Ashley Graham is from Lincoln, Nebraska. She grew up with her two younger sisters, and was regularly bullied at school for her big thighs. Graham was identified as having ADHD shortly after she graduated from primary school. However, she was able to overcome it as well as many other difficulties in her younger age. Graham's talents were discovered at the age of 12 by an agent when she was out shopping in Nebraska. In 2005, before graduating Lincoln Southwest High School she appeared in multiple magazines and billboards. At the beginning of Graham's modeling career, her physical attributes meant it was difficult for her to land modeling jobs. Graham had offers to model as a catalog lady for a number of years, however she was told she would never get past straightforward assignments. She was fortunate to prove sessions casters wrong, and her career grew rapidly. In 2007, the magazine interviewed her by Sally Singer of "Vogue" magazine. It was one of her first big break-throughs. Then, she was featured on "Glamour" publication's "These Bodies Are Beautiful at Every Size" in the year 2009. In 2009, she was back in the news, Graham starred in a controversial Lane Bryant ad that was eventually banned across a variety of countries. The commercial had received over 800,000 views at the time it was pulled from YouTube. The controversy grew until Graham was a guest on Jay Leno on "The Tonight Show." Graham was soon a well-known Plus-sized model. Grande began singing and acting as a child. In 2008 she won a role in the Broadway play 13, and she soon was appearing in bits on TV shows. Her big break came in 2010 when she got a lead role in the Nickelodeon television series Victorious. She was Cat Valentine, a teenager studying at a school for performing arts. Sam & Cat was the spin-off from her sitcom which was aired in 2013, after it was cancelled.
